HSI was conceived by a behavioral expert who has dedicated decades to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. Carlos Gonzalez, who led the caregiving agency BSTN, witnessed firsthand the gaps in care reporting and risk management, as well as the lack of available technology solutions to address these challenges. These gaps not only compromised people's health and safety but also consumed valuable time with paperwork instead of focusing on people.
Driven by his vision, Carlos started conceptualizing web-based solutions at BSTN to tackle these issues head-on. Once these innovations proved successful, Carlos and Clayton joined forces to launch HSI, bringing these game-changing solutions to other caregiving agencies.

As the president of HSI and the founder and president of BSTN-Home and Community Supported Living, he possesses extensive expertise in clinical behavior analysis, risk management, employee training, and addressing operational challenges faced by care agencies. Drawing from his wealth of experience, Carlos plays a pivotal role in guiding HSI's technology product development, focusing on addressing gaps in care and supervision.
His pioneering work at BSTN led to the creation of the HSI Portal and a suite of care apps, which are now accessible to agencies nationwide. With certifications in behavior analysis, person safety, and quality, Carlos remains at the forefront of innovation in the vital field of caregiving.
